Waiver Services
Residential Habilitation and Support (RHS/RHSO): RHS(O) focuses on achieving outcomes, those things each individual identifies as important to him/herself. Spectrum focuses on a progressive realization of the outcomes of each individual we serve. The measurement of each outcome and our ability to support someone toward the realization of their dream…big or small…is what this service is about at Spectrum.
Respite: Respite is designed to give the primary caregiver a well deserved break. Our focus with this service is to ensure that each individual realizes their regular routine and the necessary supports to successfully complete their routine during Respite. This is a service that we provide in the community or in the individual’s home based upon the regular routine during Respite time. The flow of Respite is to ensure a seamless routine while caregivers receive a break.
Community Habilitation Individual (CHIO): Community Habilitation Individual allows us to support an individual with specific skill development related to his/her community life. Just of the few benefits of CHIO with Spectrum could include: support to obtain and maintain a volunteer job, support to complete banking independently one day, or to develop a role in one’s community through active civic participation. Our focus is to ensure active integration for each individual within his/her community.
Community Habilitation Group (CHGO): Community Habilitation Group allows the benefits of Community Habilitation with the added benefit, for some, of tackling their outcomes in a small group. Where CHIO is a one on one service, CHGO is a group service with group sizes limited to 4 or less. The focus does not vary from CHIO. The difference is in learning as individually or a group.
Family & Caregiver Training (FCAR): Family & Caregiver Training is all about Information, Information, Information. Family members and caregivers can attend conferences and/or trainings for which admission is paid for through the Waiver. Spectrum serves only to pay the initial cost, so you do not have to incur that expense.
Community Transition (CT): Community Transition allows individuals to get a footing when starting their life in the community. (It is only accessible to individuals who are leaving an institutional or residential setting.) It is a once in a lifetime services that provides funding to purchase furniture, linens, etc. for his/her new home.
Rent & Food for Unrelated Live-In Caregiver (R&F): Rent & Food for Unrelated Live-In Caregivers is a creative service for those having difficulty finding a roommate within the Waiver system. R&F allows an individual to have a roommate who’s room and board is paid for in exchange for 40 hours per week of what would be staffing support.
Music Therapy (MUTH): Music Therapy is the systematic application of music in the treatment of the physiological and psychosocial aspects of a person’s disability and focuses on the acquisition of nonmusical skills and behaviors. Music Therapy is provided by a Board-Certified Music Therapist. Treatment goals may include improving communication, cognitive functioning, gross and fine motor skills, sensory integration, emotional, social and behavioral functioning.
